Value to Weight Conversion: From Price to Kilograms
Trade listings speak two languages. Some players quote value ("12k for this pet"), others quote weight ("3.4 kg"). If you cannot translate between them, you cannot verify a claim. The Value ↔ Weight converter does the math instantly — this guide explains how it works and where people get it wrong.
Why conversion matters
- Verify listings: a "cheap" value might just mean a light pet.
- Compare offers: put every pet on the same axis before judging WFL.
- Spot mispricing: value far from the weight-implied price is a red flag.
- Speed: converting beats rebuilding the full breakdown by hand.
The conversion math
Both directions use the same value-per-kg rate:
value per kg = base value × mutation multiplier
weight (kg) = value ÷ value per kg
value = weight (kg) × value per kg
Because the relationship is linear, one rate converts any amount in either direction. No curves, no caps — just division and multiplication.
Worked example — value → weight
A listing claims a Divine pet with Golden mutation is worth 15,600. What weight does that imply?
- Divine base = 380 per kg.
- Golden multiplier = ×20.
- Value per kg = 380 × 20 = 7,600.
- Weight = 15,600 ÷ 7,600 ≈ 2.05 kg.
If the pet actually weighs 2.05 kg, the listing checks out at age 1. If it weighs 1.1 kg, the ask is roughly double fair value.
Worked example — weight → value
You have a Rare pet, 6.8 kg, no mutation:
- Rare base = 8 per kg.
- Value per kg = 8 × 1 = 8.
- Value = 8 × 6.8 = 54.4.
Small numbers like this show why rarity tier matters so much — the same weight on a Mythical (140/kg) would be worth 1,120.
| Pet | Base / kg | With Golden ×20 |
|---|---|---|
| Rare | 8 | 160 |
| Legendary | 55 | 1,100 |
| Mythical | 140 | 2,800 |
| Divine | 380 | 7,600 |
| Secret | 950 | 19,000 |
| Prismatic | 2,200 | 44,000 |
The age assumption
Our converter defaults to age 1 so the rate stays clean. Age multiplies value but does not change weight — so a converted weight assumes newborn pricing. If the pet is older:
- Value → weight will understate weight for aged pets (the value includes age growth the rate ignores).
- Weight → value will understate value for aged pets.
For age-aware numbers, leave the converter and use the full Pet Value calculator, which applies the 1–500 curve.
Pitfalls to avoid
- Forgetting the mutation: always select the mutation the pet actually has.
- Wrong rarity: picking Mythical instead of Legendary changes the rate by 2.5×.
- Reading rounded weights: a displayed 3 kg might be 2.94 — confirm precision on large trades.
- Applying conversion to fruits: fruit pricing uses quality and size terms; use the fruit calculator instead.
- Ignoring demand: conversion proves mathematical fairness, not market heat.
A quick verification routine
- Note the pet, mutation, and claimed value from the listing.
- Convert value → weight with the converter.
- Compare the implied kg against the pet's real weight.
- Large mismatch → ask for proof or walk away.
- Close match → continue to full WFL check with any adds.
Frequently asked questions
Is conversion exact?
Mathematically yes at age 1. In practice, rounding and age can shift real-world numbers slightly.
Can I convert a whole trade at once?
Convert each pet separately, then sum values — the WFL tab accepts totals.
Why does my converted weight look too high?
You likely forgot the mutation, or the quoted value includes age/adds the rate does not account for.
